LADIES' MAN: In Indianapolis, Philip Wilson notes driver Tomas Scheckter "revels in his fast-paced lifestyle as a racer," and his "fun-loving attitude attracted an additional sponsor, online dating site PerfectMatch.com." His dating profile "informs his approach to money as, 'I spent it freely' and lists his favorite romantic gestures as 'long massage' and 'weekend getaway'" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 5/27).

WHO'S ZOOMIN' WHO
: The WALL STREET JOURNAL's Jared Diamond examined the primary sponsor on the 33 cars scheduled to start the Indianapolis 500 along with the 43-car field at the Daytona 500 "to see what types of companies are most common." Retail corporations "topped the list with 18 cars between the two races, followed by automotive parts and service companies with 10." However, retail companies "were on just 7.9% of Indy and Daytona winners since 1980, while automotive companies led the field with 22.2%." Meanwhile, 12 of the past 31 Indy 500 winners since '80 "were sponsored by tobacco or alcohol companies." Tobacco sponsorships are now prohibited by the FDA (WSJ.com, 5/26).
