That Ain't No Bull: PBR Holding First-Ever PPV Event Saturday Night

The PBR is producing its first-ever PPV event Saturday. The "Last Cowboy Standing" event in Las Vegas originally was supposed to be on Versus, but the Comcast-owned network ran into scheduling conflicts with the NHL playoffs. The event will feature the top 40 riders from the Built Ford Tough Series competing in an elimination event for a $200,000 top prize. The event will be available for $29.95, with Craig Hummer doing play-by-play, Ty Murray serving as an analyst and Leah Garcia conducting dirt-level interviews. Former NBC exec David Neal will be executive producer of the PPV telecast and says the commercial-free format will allow for more bells and whistles in the production. For example, Neal plans to outfit a dozen riders with wireless microphones, and one will have an ear piece to converse with booth analysts. "We wouldn't have had the freedom to do this with commercials," Neal said.
