The Canadiens have hired KEVIN GILMORE as COO. Gilmore will work in conjunction with Canadiens Owner GEOFF MOLSON, supervising corporate sales, marketing and communications and spearheading major projects. Gilmore's most recent NHL stint was with the Kings from '99-'06, serving as VP/Hockey Operations & Assistant GM. He later served as Senior VP/Corporate Development & Strategic Planning for AEG from '06-09 (THE DAILY). Gilmore previously served as VP/Hockey Operations & Legal Affairs for the Ducks and VP/Business & Legal Affairs for the Angels, and later "struck out on his own in 1998 and worked as a consultant." In Montreal, Pat Hickey notes Gilmore "has spent the past 22 years in Los Angeles," though he was "born in Quebec and grew up speaking English and French at home." The Canadiens "were among four NHL teams that employed him in shaping contracts" (Montreal GAZETTE, 4/8).

EXECS: The Sports Business Institute at the USC Marshall School of Business has named the following to its BOD: USC AD PAT HADEN, EA Sports President PETER MOORE and PBR Chair JEFFREY POLLACK (USC)....Delaware North Cos. has named ROB MATTHEWS Control Room Producer for TD Garden. The Bruins have hired Tim Cahill Committee Graphic Designer MATT HUNTER as Digital Marketing Designer (Delaware North).
