AWAY IN A MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

          Ford Motor Co. is the presenting sponsor of ABC's
     Enhanced TV telecast of the FedEx Orange Bowl, the BCS
     college football national championship game on January 3
     (Walt Disney Internet Group).  AD AGE reports that a '01
     Ford Escape will be the prize in a special sweeps "open only
     to enhanced TV viewers that evening" (AD AGE,
     12/22)....HoopsTV.com presented a breakdown of shoes worn by
     NBA players.  The "league-wide brand percentages": Nike --
     66%; adidas -- 11%; AND 1 -- 7%; Jordan -- 4%; Reebok -- 3%;
     Converse -- 3%; Fila -- 2%; Puma -- 1%; and others -- 3%
     (HoopsTV.com, 12/21).  HoopsTV.com is an entity of AND 1.
          GOLF: L.A.-based YourLife Vitamins has signed on as
     title sponsor of the '01 LPGA Classic, to be held in Orlando
     January 12-14 (LPGA)....John Huston has signed a "multi-
     year" endorsement deal with Maxfli, under which he will use
     Maxfli Revolution irons, balls, gloves and headwear
     (GOLFWEEK, 12/20)....GOLFWEEK's "Forecaddie" reported that
     John Daly has "secured a worldwide" endorsement deal for '01
     with Hippo.  Meanwhile, a source said that Franklin
     Langham's new ball/shoe/glove deal with Nike will pay him
     $1M over three years (GOLFWEEK, 12/16 issue).
