YANKEES' CASHMAN HAS NO HOLIDAY CHEER FOR ESPN AND MOORAD

          Yankees GM Brian Cashman did not know that an ESPN
     camera crew was in agent Jeff Moorad's office "shooting film
     for an upcoming feature" when he called to talk to Moorad
     about free agent OF Manny Ramirez, according to George King
     of the N.Y. POST.  The scene, in which Cashman thought he
     was talking through a speaker phone "only" to Moorad, was
     shown on ESPN's "Outside The Lines" special on the
     negotiations for Ramirez.  Cashman said, "I had no idea I
     was being taped.  I have spoken to ESPN and Jeff Moorad
     regarding the issue.  I am handling the issue with the
     individuals involved and I will leave it at that."  King
     adds that the Yankees are "investigating" whether ESPN or
     Moorad "broke a law by taping" a phone conversation "without
     all parties' knowing it" (N.Y. POST, 12/21).
