The Tampa Bay Super Bowl XXXV Task Force, via a pro
bono campaign by Tampa-based agency Moore, Epstein, Moore,
will "use a smiling football to drive home the point that
Tampa Bay residents should be friendly to Super Bowl
tourists," according to Gary Haber of the TAMPA TRIBUNE.
The ads, which use the slogan "Tampa Bay's Got Game: Let It
Show," will start appearing next week in newspapers and on
TV, radio and billboards, and will run through January 27,
the day before the game. Ad agency partner Ted Moore said
that local media outlets have donated about $1M worth of ad
space for the campaign. To support the effort, 60,000
buttons, 25,000 posters and 2,500 tabletop signs will be
distributed to area retailers and hotels. NFL Senior
VP/Special Events Jim Steeg said that while the NFL "doesn't
require host cities to mount such a campaign, it's key to
making the event a success" (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 12/21).
PARTY TIME: NY-based Tuchman Sports Enterprises (TSE)
has signed Red Bull Energy Drink as the title sponsor of the
Playboy.com Super Saturday Night Party in Tampa the night
before Super Bowl XXXV. The reported value of the
sponsorship deal is in the $100,000 range, plus product.
The guest list for the event is limited to NFL players,
sponsors, other VIPs and Playboy models (TSE).
