ASCENT ENTERTAINMENT GROUP SETTLES WITH SHAREHOLDERS

          Shareholder lawsuits accusing Ascent Entertainment
Group of trying to sell the Avalanche, Nuggets and Pepsi
Center "at a bargain price" have been settled, according to
Jef Feeley of BLOOMBERG NEWS. Shareholders had objected to
Ascent's efforts to sell the sports properties to Bill and
Nancy Laurie, arguing that officials "weren't getting the
best price" for the franchises and arena. The properties
were later sold to Stan Kroenke for $450M. DE Chancery
Court Judge Leo Strine's decision on Monday "essentially
concluded" that the shareholders "achieved their desired
result, considering the value of the sale" to Kroenke. The
suit did not seek monetary damages, but Strine did approve
$4M to cover legal fees and costs that shareholders "racked
up challenging" the sale to the Lauries (BLOOMBERG, 12/21).
