MARLINS OPEN TO THE POSSIBILITY OF A MOVE TO FORT LAUDERDALE

Marlins Owner John Henry is "open to the possibility of sharing" a stadium in Ft. Lauderdale with FL Atlantic Univ.'s football team, according to Sarah Talalay of the Ft. Lauderdale SUN-SENTINEL. Henry said that it is possible that a 40,000-seat facility "could be built" with a retractable roof and "method to arrange seats for viewing both" baseball and football. Henry, on the possibility of the stadium: "The biggest issue is sight lines. I think it's certainly something worth discussing. It might not be doable. We should find out." Talalay also notes that the Marlins are "still hoping" that a task force that began meeting in Miami last week "will come up with" a financing plan for a new ballpark "to be built" in Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami (Ft. Lauderdale SUN-SENTINEL, 12/15).
