EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          Nike promoted former VP/Sales for Europe, Middle East &
     Africa EUNAN MCLAUGHLIN to VP/Global Sales (Nike). The
     Portland OREGONIAN reported that McLaughlin "helped drive
     up" Nike's European sales, "in addition to overseeing Nike's
     sales force."  McLaughlin will now "try to make sure the
     Nike brand is presented in a consistent manner at stores
     worldwide."  Europe has been Nike's "strongest regional
     business."  First Security Van Kasper analyst John Shanley:
     "Nike is on fire in Europe right now" (OREGONIAN, 12/9).
          YOU CAN GO HOME AGAIN? After serving for the last two
     years as Senior VP & GM of MLB Productions, STEVE HELLMUTH
     will rejoin the NBA in the newly-created position of NBAE
     Senior VP/Operations & Technology.  Hellmuth, who had been
     NBAE VP/Operations before joining MLB, will report to NBAE
     President & COO ADAM SILVER (THE DAILY).
          OTHER MOVES: The MD Jockey Club announced a "major
     executive reorganization" centered on the hiring of LOU
     RAFFETTO as COO.  Raffetto was Exec VP/Racing at Suffolk
     Downs in Boston (Baltimore SUN, 12/9)....The USOC named
     CARLA O'CONNELL as Manager of Media & PR.  O'Connell served
     as Chief of Staff for former USOC President BILL HYBL
     (USOC)....The Blue Jays named PAUL ALLAMBY as Senior
     VP/Sales & Marketing (see THE DAILY, 12/1) and promoted MARK
     LEMMON to VP/Corporate Partnerships & Business Development
     (Blue Jays)....In N.Y., Bob Raissman reported that MSG
     Network Senior VP & Exec Producer MIKE MCCARTHY has
     relinquished his Exec Producer title.  That role will be
     filled by Producer LEON SCHWEIR (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 12/10).
