          IT CAN RING -- TURN NIGHT TO DAY: In Boston, Fee &
     Raposa write that ESPN's PETER GAMMONS will host an "Evening
     Of Baseball Talk and Live Rock" next Monday at the PARADISE
     CLUB.  The fund-raiser will feature performances by the PUSH
     STARS, KAY HANLEY (JOSIE of JOSIE & THE PUSSYCATS), and BILL
     JANOVITZ of BUFFALO TOM, as well as the "aptly named"
     CARLTON FISK, THURMAN MUNSON and SLIDE bands.  Proceeds will
     benefit the JIMMY FUND (BOSTON HERALD, 11/28).
          CYCLING: U.S. Olympic Cyclist NICOLE FREEDMAN, forced
     to live out of her van since returning from the Sydney Games
     because CHARLES SCHWAB pulled its sponsorship of her pro
     cycling team, received a $30,000 pledge from CA-based CREDIT
     SUISSE FIRST BOSTON TECHNOLOGY GROUP, which read about her
     plight in yesterday's USA TODAY (USA TODAY, 11/28).
     ...Former voice of the Chargers Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton, on
     Chargers QB Ryan Leaf: "I've never seen a number one pick
     that doesn't have very many friends nor a number one pick
     that has no endorsements" ("NSR," FSN, 11/27)....Lightning C
     VINNY LECAVALIER has signed FL-based IMPACT SPORTS as his
     marketing and contract rep.  More than 20 firms made bids to
     Lecavalier after he dropped former agent BOB SAUVE (ST. PETE
     TIMES, 11/28)....GABRIELLE REECE will be featured in the
     January issue of PLAYBOY (USA TODAY, 11/28).
