MEDIA NOTES: TV MONITOR

          Last night's 10:00pm ET 60-minute edition of FSN's
     "National Sports Report" led with Trail Blazers-Wizards,
     followed by Rockets-Pacers.  The first non-NBA report, at
     4:07 into the broadcast, was Univ. of IL-Univ. of MD NCAA
     men's basketball.  "NSR" did not report on MLB Commissioner
     Bud Selig appearing before a Congressional Subcommittee. 
     Last night's 11:30pm ET (late due to NCAA men's basketball)
     60-minute edition of ESPN's "SportsCenter" also led with
     Univ. of IL-Univ.-MD, followed by Dayton Univ.-Univ. of AZ
     men's basketball.  The first non-NCAA men's basketball
     report, at 6:43, was Sonics-Mavericks.  "SportsCenter" had
     1:35 of total MLB coverage, but did not report on Selig
     testifying on Capitol Hill.  Last night's 11:00pm ET 30-
     minute edition of CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" was pre-empted
     due to continuing coverage of Election 2000 (THE DAILY).
