An NCAA study, "REVENUES AND EXPENSES OF DIVISIONS I
AND II INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS PROGRAMS," by Transylvania
Univ. (KY) Accounting Program Dir DANIEL FULKS, details the
financial state of intercollegiate athletics in '99. In
Div. I-A, the average total revenue per institution in '99
was $21.9M, up 23% from $17.8M in '97, the last time the
study was completed. At the same time, average total
expenses in Div. I-A was $20M, a 15.6% increase from $17.3M.
In Div. I-A, 74 of 114 institutions reported that revenues
exceeded expenditures. The average profit for those schools

with THE GIVING BACK FUND that will focus on providing
funding for programs that support single parent families;

wrote that former NHLer VINCENT RIENDEAU is "organizing a
first-of-its-kind camp for Russian NHL prospects," with the
goal of teaching the players to "prepare for the customs of
North America and the traditions of the NHL." Riendeau is
"working in partnership" with LAPUSHNER SPORTS GROUP, a
company that "hopes to build a stable of Russian-born

during sports events and writes that the ANGELS play the
song "Y.M.C.A." "at least once a homestand. Not that
there's anything wrong with that." Angels Entertainment
Rep. Peter Bull: "I don't know anyone who ever admitted to
liking that song (when it came out) or owning that song, but
play it at a game, and everyone gets up and reacts. They
