     before kickoff of yesterday's games.  A memorial fund has
     been established in his name and contributions can be sent to
     the Steven I. Schoenfeld Memorial Fund, care of the Arizona
     Republic, 200 E. Van Buren Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85004 (INDY
     STAR, 10/30)....Phoenix's KTVK-TV last Wednesday erroneously
     reported on its morning broadcast that former Coyotes coach
     JIM SCHOENFELD "had passed away."  KTVK Exec News Dir PHIL
     ALVIDREZ: "There's no excuse.  To compound one tragedy with a
     mistake only makes it worse" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 10/30).
          NAMES: In Phoenix, Laura Trujillo reports on Republicans
     and Democrats "courting" former NBA G KEVIN JOHNSON to run
     for office.  Trujillo: "If party officials could have created
     an ideal candidate, they say, Johnson might be it."   AZ
     Democratic Party Chair Mark Fleisher: "He's bright, he's
     articulate, he knows the issues.  And he knows how to work a
     crowd" (AZ REPUBLIC, 10/29)....JAMIE FOXX is in talks to star
     opposite WILL SMITH in the biopic "ALI" (H. REPORTER, 10/30).
