FACILITY NOTES

Marquette Univ. yesterday announced that a proposed on-
campus practice facility would be named for former men's
basketball coach Al McGuire. About $9M has been raised
toward the facility (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/17).
...Starting in January, WI residents will be able to obtain
gold-colored Packers' license plates, which will cost $85,
including a one-time issuance fee of $15. The WI Department
of Transportation will get the first $35,000 in plate sales
to "cover startup costs." The rest of the revenue --
expected to be about $350,000 in the first year and $100,000
per year for the "life" of the program -- "would be used to
help retire" the debt of the $295M renovation of Lambeau
Field (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 10/16)....In Cincinnati,
Cliff Peale reported that 16 companies have bought signs in
the new Cintas Center at Xavier Univ (XU). XU AD Mike
Bobinski said that the 16 companies will bring in more than
$1M per year, compared to about $500,000 per year at the old
facility, Cincinnati Gardens. Also, 22 companies have
leased luxury boxes for about $880,000 per year over ten
years. Revenue from the 1,000 club seats will total about
$1M per year (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 10/13).
