NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND: PHILLY X GAMES DEAL NOT SIGNED

          X Games Exec Dir Jack Wienert said that despite reports,
     Philadelphia has not yet been selected as the host of the
     2001 and 2002 X Games, and that Richmond, VA, is still being
     considered, according to Karen Heller of the PHILADELPHIA
     INQUIRER.  Philadelphia Sports Congress Exec Dir Larry
     Needle, on Philadelphia hosting the X Games: "It's by no
     means a done deal."   Wienert: "We don't have a complete
     package from Philadelphia.  They're still putting fruit in
     the pie, while Richmond has finished their deal."  Heller
     noted that Richmond has been "wooing" ESPN execs for two
     years.  Heller added that if selected, Philadelphia would
     "stage the games in and around" the First Union Center and
     First Union Spectrum (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 10/14).
