MLS TAKES A HIT FROM ABC AS NET DROPS FOUR GAMES FROM '01

          In a move that "suggests" ABC Sports has "lost
     confidence in soccer," the net has "decided to remove four
     of the six MLS games from next year's schedule."  MLS Dir of
     PR Dan Courtemanche said: "At this point, I can tell you the
     MLS Cup and the 2001 All-Star Game will be on ABC. 
     Everything else we're hoping for."  ABC's decision "throws
     all other aspects" of the MLS/ABC partnership "into
     question" (ESPN.com, 10/11).
