FOUR SPONSORS SIGN ON FOR SI'S SPORTSMAN OF YEAR SHOW ON CBS

          SI will broadcast a "Sportsman of the Year" show
     December 14 on CBS, its first since a '95 broadcast on Fox,
     according to AD AGE.  Four $1.4M ad sponsorships have been
     sold to Capital One, IBM, Lincoln Mercury and State Farm.
     Sponsorships "net the marketers four 30-second spots and two
     billboards during the telecast, as well as a spread" in this
     year's "Sportsman of the Year" issue.  Additionally, the
     sponsors receive name and logo placement in all SI promos
     for the show, to run in Entertainment Weekly, Fortune,
     People and Time (AD AGE, 10/9 issue). There are three 30-
     second spots still available during the show for $175,000
     each.  TWI/IMG is producing the program (THE DAILY).
