MEDIA NOTES

          TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:00pm ET 60-minute edition
     of FSN's "National Sports Report" led with a preview of the
     Mariners-Yankees ALCS, followed by a preview of the Mets-
     Cardinals NLCS.  The first non-MLB report, at 9:15 into the
     broadcast, was an injury update on Jets QB Vinny Testaverde. 
     "NSR" had 19:04 of total MLB coverage and 8:12 of total NFL
     coverage.  Last night's 11:00pm ET 30-minute edition of
     CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" also led with the ALCS, followed
     by the NLCS.  The first non-MLB report, at 6:40, was an
     update on the health of Heat C Alonzo Mourning.  "Sports
     Tonight" had 9:44 of total MLB coverage and 2:17 of total
     NFL coverage.  Last night's 12:00am ET 60-minute edition of
     ESPN's "SportsCenter" led with Stars-Maple Leafs, followed
     by Kings-Blue Jackets.  The first non-NHL report, at 10:32,
     was the World Match Play Championship.  "SportsCenter" had
     9:12 of total MLB coverage and 21:55 of total NFL coverage.
