strength of reports" that Manchester United was "poised to
sign" a US$439M apparel deal with Nike, the team's stock
price "initially rocketed" 10%, "eventually settling down to
end the day unchanged" at US$377. Griffin notes the Nike
deal "would earn" Man U US$29.2M per season (GUARDIAN,
9/29)....VA-based Sports Vue Internet has signed on as the
official online fantasy soccer game of the WISL. The game
will be available free of charge on WISL.net (THE DAILY).
AGENCY NEWS: The Capitals retained The Bornstein Agency
to handle its advertising for this season (Capitals)....The
Int'l Hockey Federation has extended its relationship with
Swiss-based CWL Telesport & Marketing AG for another seven
