EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          Nike has named MINDY GROSSMAN as Global VP/Apparel.
     Grossman was previously President & CEO of Polo Jeans
     Company/Ralph Lauren.  Nike also named JORDAN WAND as Global
     Dir of its advanced innovation team, ROBIN LANAHAN as Dir of
     Nike Marketing/U.S. Apparel and ERIC WICAL as Nike Men's
     Business Dir/Active Lifestyle (Nike)....Chicago Sun-Times
     sports columnist RICK TELANDER has joined
     SportsWritersDirect as Senior National Columnist.  Telander
     will write weekly online columns and features while
     continuing to write for the Sun-Times (Broadband Sports).
     ...DAVID LARSON was named Dir of Marketing & Communications
     at Homestead-Miami Speedway.  He was previously VP/Business
     Development for L.A.-based Alton Entertainment Group
     (Homestead-Miami Speedway)....RAFAEL PEREZ was named
     administrator of MLB's new Dominican Republic office.  Since
     '96, Perez has been a Senior Software Consultant/Global
     Project Manager at FL-based Scala North America (MLB).
     ...Nike Golf promoted NICOLE SMITH to Int'l Marketing
     Coordinator.  Smith was Product Line Coordinator for
     Footwear, Balls and Equipment (GOLF Magazine, 9/26)....The
     NHL named KENNETH MARTIN as Dir of Community & Diversity
     Programs.  Martin had been Dir of Community Relations for
     the Sabres since '94 (NHL).
