The SLOC named Publicis USA to handle brand advertising
and marketing for the 2002 Games (WALL ST JOURNAL, 9/28).

starting in 500 days, the SLOC unveiled a new motto, "Light
the Fire Within" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 9/27)....SLOC President
& CEO Mitt Romney has said that the medals plaza near the
Delta Center will "attract a lot of kids," and feels it will
be "inappropriate to promote or sell beer or any other
alcohol in the vicinity." But Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky
Anderson said there should be "as few restrictions as
possible to allow the people (in Salt Lake City) to have as
good a time as people are having [in Sydney]." Anderson:

they are going to out of hand" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 9/28).
