PBA JUST DOES IT: TOUR TABS HAMILTON, MILLER FROM NIKE

The PBA has named former Nike Global Dir of Tennis
Sports Marketing Ian Hamilton as Commissioner and former
Nike Global Dir of Sports Marketing Steve Miller as
President. Both will run day-to-day operations for the PBA
at its new headquarters in Seattle (PBA). In announcing the
moves, PBA co-Owner Chris Peters said that the league has
launched pba.com and has extended its TV deal with ESPN
through the winter. Meanwhile, former PBA Commissioner Mark
Gerberich will become the PBA's GM of operations in Akron
(USA TODAY, 9/27). But in Akron, Fellicia Smith reports
that the PBA, which has been based in Akron since the '50s,
will move its headquarters to Seattle. Smith: "At the
moment, the office in Seattle is only handling marketing and
promotions, while the Akron office is handling day-to-day
operations, but that could change" (A.B. JOURNAL, 9/27).
