SPORTS FIRMS MERGE TO BUILD IN SMALL AND MID-SIZED CITIES

          Charlotte-based Scheer-Stern Development and Milwaukee-
     based The Stadium Game have merged to form ScheerGame Sports
     Development, according to Steve Cameron of the
     SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, who reports that the combined
     company will "finance and develop sports and entertainment
     venues in small to medium-sized markets."  Scheer-Stern
     Development includes former NBA exec Carl Scheer and
     managing partners Martin Greenberg, James Kasten and Steven
     Stern.  Former Scheer Sports President Jon Pritchett has
     joined ScheerGame as a Partner and will serve as Senior VP &
     CMO.  The new firm will be based in Milwaukee, with offices
     in Charlotte, Greenville, SC, Manchester, NH, Jacksonville,
     Tampa and Southern CA (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 9/25 issue).
