FLYING HIGH: SEAHAWKS OPTIMISTIC ABOUT SALES OF NEW SUITES

The Seahawks "are off to a quick start" marketing their
new stadium, which will open for the 2002 season, "even
though they are falling short of sellouts this fall in the
team's temporary Husky Stadium home," according to Angelo
Bruscas of the SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER. The team has
sold 53 of the 82 suites in the new, unnamed stadium, and
the suites come in configurations of 12, 18, 24 and 34 seats
     costing $50,000-150,000. There are also 12 field-level
suites located in the north end zone that are four feet
above the field. Three of those have been sold. Seahawks
Dir of Suite Sales & Services Ron Jenkins said that the
suites are "designed to be the largest in pro sports." Some
of the features of the suites include a retractable front
glass panel that can be opened. The suites will also have
touch-panel computers that allow Internet access, instant
food and beverage service, team merchandise ordering and
access to game stats and highlights. The leases, however,
"do not come with tickets to anything but Seahawks games."
Suite holders will be allowed to use their suites for the
other events, but "will have to purchase tickets separately"
     (SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER, 9/18).
