MOVEMENT AT MSG: WILL COHEN HELP LOCATE NEW ARENA?

MSG named JOSEPH COHEN to the newly created position of
Exec VP/Development, where he will explore options for a
renovated MSG or a new arena. Cohen, who has been MSG Exec
VP since '95, joined the company in '70 and was the founder
and principal architect of MSG Network (MSG). Cohen: "We
have not ruled out a renovation of the Garden, but a new
building would seem to be the best solution." Cohen "could
not offer a specific timetable," but said that "ideally," it
"would be done within six years" (NEWSDAY, 9/15).
OTHER MSG MOVES: MSG also named MIKE MCCARTHY as Exec
VP of MSG Networks, where he will be responsible for the
entire operation of MSG Network, FSN N.Y. and for all of
MSG's new media initiatives. McCarthy, who will report to
MSG COO SETH ABRAHAM, served as Exec Producer since '92.
Additionally, MSG named JOE GANGONE as Exec VP/MSG Ad Sales.
Gangone has served as Senior VP/Ad Sales since '95 (MSG).
