MEDIA NOTES

          TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:00PM ET 60-minute edition
     of FSN's "National Sports Report" led with a 7:10 report on
     Bobby Knight, followed by Brewers-Mets.  "NSR" had 13:52 of
     total Knight coverage.  Last night's 11:00pm ET 30-minute
     edition of CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" led with a 5:50 report
     on Knight, followed by Red Sox-Indians.  "Sports Tonight"
     had 8:23 of total Knight coverage.  Last night's 11:00PM ET
     60-minute edition of ESPN's "SportsCenter" led with a 12:34
     report on Knight, followed by Red Sox-Indians.
     "SportsCenter" had 16:38 of total Knight coverage. 
          NOTES: In Baltimore, Milton Kent reports that "all-
     sports-talk radio has returned to Baltimore's airwaves," as
     syndicated sports talk radio host Nestor Aparicio is
     "heading up a consortium of investors" to buy WNST-AM. 
     Aparicio: "I'll be a majority owner."  Aparicio would not
     confirm a bidding price, but said that it is "less than" the
     $1.5M price that WNST sought last August.  Aparicio will
     continue to host a syndicated daily afternoon drive-time
     show for One-on-One Network (Baltimore SUN, 9/13)....The
     Trail Blazers have renewed their TV deal with KGW-NBC for
     five years, through the 2004-05 season.  KGW, which has been
     the Blazers' TV home since the '92-93 season, will broadcast
     26 of the team's games this season (OREGONIAN, 9/12).

Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown.
