The NPSL named STEVE RYAN as Commissioner, succeeding STEVE PAXOS, who resigned after serving in the position since '88 (see THE DAILY, 7/14). Most recently, Ryan was President & CEO of Strike Ten Entertainment. Ryan spent 13 years with the NHL as President & COO of NHLE and also served as President of Pittsburgh Sports Holdings (NPSL). WHL TABS ROBISON: The WHL Board of Governors unanimously approved the appointment of RON ROBISON as Commissioner. Robison joins the WHL after serving three years as the President of his own sports marketing firm. Robison also spent 12 years with the Canadian Hockey Association and Hockey Canada (WHL). Robison replaces DEV DLEY, whose contract was not renewed (CALGARY SUN, 9/13). JUNIOR'S LEAGUE? The IBL announced that Minority Partner RALPH ROSSI JR. will assume a more active leadership role as CEO. Founder ART CIPRIANI will remain the Majority Partner, but will focus his efforts toward enhancing the league's marketing program. Rossi is CEO of the sports investment firm Net Ten Sports (IBL).
