DECISION DAY IN GREEN BAY: HARLAN, TEAM OPTIMISTIC ON VOTE

A "record turnout" is expected today as Brown County
voters "consider enacting" a 0.5% sales tax to help fund a
$295M renovation of Lambeau Field, according to Thomas
Content of the GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE. County officials
said that by Monday, about 2,100 people had already cast
absentee ballots in Green Bay, more than voted absentee in
the '96 presidential election. Yesterday, Lambeau
supporters, including Packers President Bob Harlan and Green
Bay Mayor Paul Jadin, held a news conference at the Brown
County Courthouse. Harlan was also joined by former Packers
WR Max McGee, as they made "several stops around town and
going door-to-door for a third straight day" (GREEN BAY
PRESS-GAZETTE, 9/12). Brown County Deputy County Clerk
Sandy VanStraten-Juno said that a record turnout of 70% of
voters is expected today. Meanwhile, Team Lambeau Exec Dir
David Steffen said, "It's important we meet as many people
as possible these last few days. There's five to nine
percent that are undecided. That's the group we're fighting
for" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 9/12). The forecast today
is for sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s (THE DAILY).
