MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

NFL: The SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Bernstein &
Brockinton cite NFL sources as saying that E-Trade has
signed a letter of agreement with the league "to return as
the Super Bowl halftime show sponsor for the second straight
season" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 9/11 issue)....Vlasic has
signed on as the Eagles' "Pickle Power" partner and supplier
of pickles. The Eagles gave some credit to the "power of
pickles" for their win last week over the Cowboys, as
trainer Rick Burkholder gave players contents of a pickle
jar prior to and during the game to combat the effect of the
100-plus-degree heat in TX (Eagles). In Philadelphia, April
Adamson reports that Eagles "Pickle Power" T-shirts were
"selling like hot cakes to both men and women" at the team's
home game against the Giants yesterday (PHILADELPHIA DAILY
NEWS, 9/11). The Eagles sent a jar of pickles, a cucumber
and some "Pickle Power" T-shirts to "Fox NFL Sunday," which
analyst Terry Bradshaw distributed to host James Brown and
analysts Howie Long and Cris Collinsworth (THE DAILY).
