BOARD WALK: MAPLE LEAF SPORTS RESTRUCTURES ADVISORY BOARD

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) has "retired"
its advisory board consisting of "six close associates of
Majority Owner Steve Stavro," according to Tony Van Alphen
of the TORONTO STAR. An MLSE spokesperson said that the
company's BOD concluded recently that "the group had
outlived its usefulness." MLSE CEO Richard Peddie: "The
time had come and we just retired them. They were very
helpful and made a contribution. We still have an excellent
relationship." Peddie noted that the group's "perks," which
include "two top seats to all Leafs games," will end. The
advisory board included Donald Crump, Chris Dundas, Terry
Kelly, Ted Nikolaou, Ron Pringle and George Whyte. Some
members of the group were "key" execs in the former unit,
Maple Leaf Gardens Ltd. (TORONTO STAR, 8/30).
