EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          CART GETTING A TUNE-UP: CART Senior VP/Marketing
     PATRICK LEAHY announced an organizational restructuring of
     the series' marketing and communications departments.  The
     broadcast group, headed by VP/Broadcasting KEITH ALLO, will
     now report through the marketing division.  Meanwhile,
     VP/Client Relations RENA SHANAMAN and her group have joined
     the marketing department, and Dir of Research & Planning
     NANCY MILLER LEWIS will oversee the budget and
     administrative functions for the marketing area.  CART's
     Communication and PR functions will remain part of the
     Marketing division and divided into Corporate/Marketing
     Communications, headed by VP/Communications RON RICHARDS,
     and Competition PR, headed by Dir of PR MIKE ZIZZO (CART).  
          OTHER MOVES: The Cubs promoted Dir of Player
     Development & Scouting JIM HENDRY to Assistant GM (BLOOMBERG
     NEWS, 8/28)....The WNBA Shock did not renew the contract of
     GM & coach NANCY LIEBERMAN-CLINE.  In Detroit, David Goricki
     writes, "Despite Lieberman-Cline's strong community
     involvement, attendance dropped to 6,716 from last year's
     average of 8,485 and from the inaugural season's 10,229"
     (DETROIT NEWS, 8/29)....Callaway Golf promoted Exec VP & CLO
     & Secretary STEVE MCCRACKEN to Senior Exec VP.  McCracken
     will continue to hold the CLO & Secretary titles along with
     his new title (Callaway)....Anaheim Sports promoted RICHARD
     MCCLEMMY to Senior Advertising Sales Manager (ORANGE COUNTY
     REGISTER, 8/28)....The Single A Salem-Keizer Volcanoes named
     MARK HELMINIAK as VP/Sales & Promotions.  Helminiak was most
     recently GM for the Single A Portland Rockies (Salem-Keizer
     Volcanoes)....AMY TURNER was named Dir of PR for FSN Rocky
     Mountain.  Turner was Assistant Commissioner of
     Communications for the Mountain West Conference (FSN).
     ...TodaysSports.com named former NFL DL and Fox Sports
     analyst BILL MAAS as a columnist (THE DAILY).
