MEDIA NOTES

TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:00pm ET 60-minute edition
of FSN's "National Sports Report," the 11:00pm ET 30-minute
edition of CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" and the 11:00pm ET 60-
minute edition of ESPN's "SportsCenter" all led with the
proposed four-team trade in the NBA, which includes Knicks C
Patrick Ewing going to the Sonics, followed by A's-Tigers.
"NSR" did not report on last night's Packers-Dolphins "MNF"
preseason game. "Sports Tonight" first reported on Packers-
Dolphins at 7:50 into the broadcast, while "SportsCenter"
reported on Packers-Dolphins at 25:31 (THE DAILY).
O'NEIL REAL TEAM SITE: NEWSDAY's Steve Zipay reports
that former NBC and CBS Exec Producer Terry O'Neil is
launching a pro football "insider" Web site, realteam.com,
on Monday. Zipay: "What's supposed to differentiate this
site from others is that only NFL executives, coaches,
players or consultants will write for it" (NEWSDAY, 8/22).
NO LONGER TALKIN' ABOUT THE REVOLUTION: In Providence,
Doug Chapman reported that the editors of Pictures of
Chairman Mao (PoCM) FanZine on the MLS Revolution will stop
publishing the magazine. Editors "had an incident" with MA
State Police at MLS Cup '99 last October in Foxboro "that
helped lead to their decision to stop printing." PoCM co-
Editor Guy Keeley: "All we ever wanted to do was to sell our
fanzine to [Revolution] soccer fans, at the one place where
they gather in large numbers -- Foxboro Stadium. All the
Revolution, by deed, have wanted us to do is to stop doing
that very same thing" (PROVIDENCE JOURNAL, 8/20).
QUESTIONING THE MOVES OF FOX: In Boston, Jim Baker
reviews Fox NFL analyst Matt Millen serving as an umpire
during Sunday's Bucs-Patriots game and writes, "The ploy
failed on several levels" (BOSTON HERALD, 8/22)....NEWSDAY's
Steve Zipay notes FSN dropping Michael Irvin from its "NFL
This Morning" after his recent legal situation in TX:
"Hiring Irvin was a dubious move to begin with. It appeared
only a matter of time before Fox would have been embarrassed
by his on-air or off-air antics" (NEWSDAY, 8/22).
MYHIGHLIGHTS.COM: WNBA.com has launched its "My
Highlights" feature, which lets users "build highlight reels
from the 2000 WNBA playoffs." The feature "lets fans easily
seek and download video using such criteria as three-point
shots or baskets scored by a particular player" (HOLLYWOOD
REPORTER, 8/21). Produced by NBAE, the site is also
broadcasting the WNBA.com Postgame Show (BRANDWEEK, 8/18).
