ATLANTA TO HOST INAUGURAL ESPORTSWORLD CONFERENCE

          Atlanta will be the site for eSportsWorld, the "first
     national conference on the impact of the Internet on
     Sports," according to Sheila Poole of the ATLANTA
     CONSTITUTION.  Atlanta Sports Council President Gary Stokan,
     on the event:  "We think there's a niche to help companies
     anticipate, manage and succeed in the sports Internet age." 
     The conference "is expected to draw" as many as 2,000 "high-
     level" sports and technology executives.  Stokan added that
     the conference "will launch" the Horizon Sports Business
     Award "to honor leaders in sports business."  The conference
     is set to take place November 28-30, while a second
     conference will take place this spring on the west coast at
     a yet undetermined site (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 8/16).
