EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          The SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Daniel Kaplan reports that
     Ericsson VP of the Americas Region HAKAN WRETSEL -- who "was
     behind Ericsson Mobile Phones' roughly" $30M sponsorship of
     the Ericsson Open -- "resigned as part of a management
     shakeup" at Ericsson.  His departure "could mean big changes
     for the company's sponsorship" (SBJ, 8/14 issue)....The
     Baseball Assistance Team's BOD named former pitcher EARL
     WILSON as President & CEO.  Former players JOE BLACK, BOB
     GIBSON, FRANK TORRE, ED STACK and MARK LETENDRE were named
     to serve as VPs of the charitable organization (MLB)....The
     National Baseball HOF named former Tigers COO BILL HAASE as
     VP/Business & Administration (National Baseball
     HOF)....Twins VP/Sales JIM DEAN is "leaving" to become
     General Sales Manager of FSN-Minnesota (ST. PAUL PIONEER
     PRESS, 8/11)....Oilers VP/Business Operations DOUG PIPER is
     leaving to explore other business opportunities (CP,
     8/12)....Breeders' Cup President D.G. VAN CLIEF, JR., was
     re-elected to a five-year term as Trustee of The Blood-
     Horse, Inc.  In addition, RAY PAULICK was elected Exec VP,
     and CHUCK MANSON to VP/Finance & Technology and Treasurer
     (THE DAILY)....ROB PARKER's column begins in today's edition
     of the Detroit News.  Parker was a sports columnist for the
     Detroit Free Press from '93 to '95 and has written for
     Newsday and the N.Y. Daily News (DETROIT NEWS, 8/13).
