XFL FILES, PART II: WILL FANS RESPOND TO ALTERNATE LEAGUE?

          A survey commissioned by THE DAILY and conducted by the
     ESPN Sports Poll, a product of TNS Intersearch, asked 1,010
     respondents, representing the U.S. pop. aged 12+, about the
     WWF's new football league, the XFL.  Respondents were asked,
     "How likely will you be to attend an XFL game in person,
     assuming they were playing near your home?"  Of 891 sports
     fans, 26.6% said they would be likely -- responding either
     "Very," "Somewhat" or "A Little Bit" -- to attend a game,
     while 72.6% are "not at all" likely to attend.  Meanwhile,
     38.1% of 297 avid sports fans, 43.2% of 266 avid NFL fans,
     75.4% of 113 avid wrestling fans and 41.0% of 341 fans aware
     of the XFL said they will be likely to attend a game in
     person.  Of 122 respondents aged 12 to 17, 55.0% said they
     will be likely to attend in person, while 47.0% of 234
     respondents aged 12 to 24 said the same.  Of 116 males aged
     12-24, 54.5% said they will be likely to attend, while 36.1%
     of 118 females aged 12 to 24 said the same (THE DAILY).
