MEDIA NOTES: TV MONITOR

          TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:00pm ET 60-minute edition
     of FSN's "National Sports Report" led with Red Sox OF Carl
     Everett dropping his appeal of his ten-game suspension,
     followed by Twins-Red Sox and Yankees-Orioles.  The first
     non-MLB report, at 7:38 into the broadcast, was Reggie White
     reporting to Panthers training camp.  The first NBA report,
     at 9:50, was free agent F Tim Thomas re-signing with the
     Bucks and turning down a more lucrative contract from the
     Bulls.  Last night's 11:00pm ET 30-minute edition of
     CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" led with Yankees-Orioles, followed
     by Twins-Red Sox and Rangers C Ivan Rodriguez fracturing his
     thumb.  The first non-MLB report, at 4:27, was the Panthers
     signing DL Eric Swann.  "Sports Tonight" had no NBA
     coverage. Last night's 11:00pm ET 60-minute edition of
     ESPN's "SportsCenter" led with Rodriguez fracturing his
     thumb, followed by Angels-Rangers and Yankees-Orioles.  The
     first non-MLB report, at 6:57, was Swann signing with the
     Panthers.  The first NBA report, at 20:17, was Thomas re-
     signing with the Bucks (THE DAILY).
