THE LATEST PLAN FOR FENWAY: MA Gov. Paul Cellucci
proposed an updated plan to fund a new Fenway Park which
would "repay the city's investment but could leave the Red
Sox" without the $7M per year in parking revenues the team
is seeking to finance the proposal. In Boston, Meg
Vaillancourt reports that Cellucci's plan "seemed to stun
the Red Sox" (BOSTON GLOBE, 7/21). Cellucci: "Everbody's
got to give a little here. We're getting close. Maybe the
Red Sox have to move a little" (BOSTON HERALD, 7/21).
PACKERS FUND LOCAL COMMITTEE: In Green Bay, Thomas
Content reports that Friends of Lambeau Field "spent more
than" $104,000 through June 30 to help "encourage a 'yes'
vote on a stadium renovation sales tax referendum."
Opponents of the tax, the Brown County Citizens for Sensible
Taxation, spent $3,673.41. The Packers contributed $50,000
to Friends of Lambeau, and the team provided in-kind
     donations of $10,789 (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 7/21).
