NOTES: The Reds "unanimously agreed" that a report by
FSN's Kevin Kennedy saying that Reds CF Ken Griffey Jr. had
been offered in a trade proposal to at least one AL team was
"ridiculous." Reds GM Jim Bowden: "It's a lie" (CINCINNATI
ENQUIRER, 7/19)....While NBC's coverage of MLB's All-Star
Game was the 5th-ranked show of the week with a 10.1/18
Nielsen rating, the AP's David Bauder notes that it was down
16% from last year. Bauder: "Maybe NBC should force [MLB]'s
all-stars to dine on rats or live together in the same house
for a couple of months." The game "couldn't even nudge NBC
out of third place in last week's ratings race, although the
network narrowly won among the 18-49 age demographic it
covets" (AP, 7/19)...."NASCAR Racers" on Fox Kids Network
will return for a second season and be part of a new retail
promotion in late July at Meijer stores. The show will
