EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

Colorado Ski Country USA President JOHN FREW announced
yesterday that he is leaving the trade organization in
September after five years to join the law firm of
Brownstein, Hyatt & Farber. The CO Ski Country board will
"begin their search soon" for a replacement and "expect to
have a few candidates in place by the time Frew is ready to
leave his position" (ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS, 7/19). In Denver,
Jason Blevins reports that during Frew's tenure, the ski
industry has "undergone sweeping changes." But "despite
even the most earnest of marketing efforts, skier visits have
remained dormant. Across the nation, the ski industry is
flat, or 'stable'" according to experts (DENVER POST, 7/19).
