THE GREAT OUTDOORS? TWINS SEEK TO MOVE SOME GAMES OUTSIDE

Twins CEO Chris Clouser is "looking at the possibility
of his team playing one outdoor series this season at a
temporary stadium in Bloomington, St. Paul or Minneapolis,"
according to Sid Hartman of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE.
Clouser said that he would "like to give the public the
taste of outdoor baseball this year in a weekend series that
could draw 20,000 to 25,000 a game." Clouser: "A guy has
approached us about building a temporary outdoor baseball
facility. What I think it might do is bring some excitement
to a weekend series. We're just going to look at the
possibility and feasibility to do it." More Clouser: "We
have found in our preliminary talks that there are some
people who would like to sponsor such a game. And we're
looking at possible locations" (STAR TRIBUNE, 7/15). In St.
Paul, Charley Walters: "There is virtually no chance [MLB]
would approve an outdoor game for the Twins in a makeshift
stadium this season" (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 7/16).
