STALLONE TO FILM PART OF CART MOVIE IN TORONTO THIS WEEK

SYLVESTER STALLONE is in Toronto this week for Sunday's
Molson Indy and will film scenes for his movie that is based
on the CART series, according to Rick Matsumoto of the
TORONTO STAR. Stallone, who originally planned to use the
Formula One circuit as the backdrop for the film, turned to
CART after the sponsors of two PacWest Racing team cars --
Nextel and Motorola -- agreed to "help underwrite the
movie." In return, the PacWest cars will be "featured
prominently in the film." Portions of the film are being
shot at locations in Hamilton, Uxbridge, Markham, downtown
Toronto and during the three-day Molson Indy festival. The
film has the working title of "DRIVEN" and is "tentatively"
set to be released next summer (TORONTO STAR, 7/11).
Spectators at this weekend's Molson Indy "will be able to
watch on-track filming of the movie" on JumboTrons around
the track (Irene Papakonstantinou, TORONTO SUN, 7/10).
