MEDIA NOTES

          TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:00pm ET 60-minute edition
     of FSN's "National Sports Report" led with the NBA Draft,
     followed by a report on Cubs RF Sammy Sosa's possible trade
     to the Yankees and game highlights of Cubs-Pirates.  The
     first report on the Braves and P John Rocker's visit to N.Y.
     for the upcoming series against the Mets was at 9:14 into
     the broadcast.  "NSR" had 8:02 of total NBA Draft coverage. 
     Last night's 11:00pm ET 30-minute edition of CNN/SI's
     "Sports Tonight" led with the NBA Draft, followed by a
     report on Isiah Thomas selling the CBA to the NBPA and Blue
     Jays-Devil Rays.  The first report on Rocker in N.Y. was at
     10:33.  "Sports Tonight" had 7:56 of total NBA Draft
     coverage.  Last night's 11:00pm ET 60-minute edition of
     ESPN's "SportsCenter" led with the NBA Draft, followed by
     Yankees-Tigers and Blue Jays-Devil Rays.  The first report
     on Rocker in N.Y. was at 36:23.  "SportsCenter" had 11:33 of
     total NBA Draft coverage (THE DAILY).  
          NOTES: ESPN Magazine has raised its guaranteed rate
     base to 1.15 million, which takes effect with the current
     July 10 issue.  The next rate base increase will be in
     January 2001 when circulation hits 1.25 million (ESPN
     Magazine)....The National Rookie League signed a deal with
     Sport Productions Int'l Network (SPIN), under which SPIN
     will broadcast Philadelphia Force games on WPWA-AM and on
     broadcastsports.com.  Under the deal, SPIN will broadcast at
     least nine Force games, including all eight home games
     (NRL)....The Marlins-Mets game Monday night on FSN N.Y.
     earned a 3.69 rating and was seen in 253,688 HHs, marking
     the Mets' second-highest-rated game this season behind Mets-
     Reds on April 25, which earned a 4.20 rating (FSN).
