Hecker & Muehlebach agent Matt Muehlebach, who
represents former Univ. of OK F Eduardo Najera, has "used a
high-tech tool to help boost his client's chances in
[tonight's NBA Draft]: a slick interactive CD-ROM
highlighting Najera's abilities on and off the court,"
according to Alan Fischer of the ARIZONA DAILY STAR. The
CD-ROM, which "looks like a tiny orange basketball," shows
Najera "in action, offers interviews with coaches and
teammates, links to articles about Najera and features an
electronic connection allowing teams and potential
commercial sponsors to contact Muehlebach." Muehlebach, on
the CD-ROM: "We sent one out to every single team in the
NBA. We're hoping this type of thing helps with the
promotion of him. ... It shows him in some interview
situations, focuses on some of the things he can do for the
community, focuses on certain things he can do for the
Hispanic community." Muehlebach said that the project
"marks the first time" a CD-ROM has "been used to market a
potential NBA player" (ARIZONA DAILY STAR, 6/28).
