SCHWAB TO CONTINUE SPORTS PUSH IN TWO HIGH-PROFILE EVENTS

S.F.-based Charles Schwab will have "both a significant
national and local advertising presence" on U.S. TV coverage
of the Sydney Games this summer, as the company has
"supplemented" its national ad buy on NBC by "securing local
Olympics ad inventory" on NBC affils in 11 U.S. markets,
according to Langdon Brockinton of the SPORTSBUSINESS
JOURNAL. Schwab "declined to divulge the value" of the
Olympic effort, but sources said that the national buy is
"certainly a multimillion-dollar expenditure." BBDO handles
the company's creative, while Rubin Postaer & Associates is
its national media buyer (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 6/19).
NFL BUY: Brockinton also reports that Schwab has signed
on to be presenting sponsor of CBS' Super Bowl XXXV "pre-
kickoff" segment, which will run from 6:00pm ET until the
game's 6:20pm kickoff. Schwab is "slated to air" three
spots during the segment (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 6/19).
