HEAT COOLING DOWN SOME TICKET PRICES FOR 2000-01 SEASON

Prices dropped or remained even in nearly half of the
sections of AmericanAirlines Arena under the Heat's new
season-ticket pricing structure for the 2000-01 season. The
structure includes a 7.2% drop in overall upper-bowl prices,
including reductions throughout much of the upper bowl; a 4%
increase in overall lower-bowl prices, though there were
price reductions for seats in some corner areas of the lower
bowl; and the $8 season-ticket category was expanded in
eight upper-level sideline sections as prices for seats in
that section's row 16 dropped from $25 to $8. Also, prices
for the upper-sideline's rows 13-15 dropped from $25 to $17
and the upper-corner section's rows 1-8 dropped from $40 to
$30. In rows 2-10 of some lower-corner sections, prices
dropped from $150 to $80, while prices for all lower-corner
sections in rows 30 and higher dropped from $50 to $45.
Seats whose prices will increase on a season-ticket basis
include the upper-sideline's rows 9-12 from $25 to $30, rows
1-8 from $40 to $45, and three lower-bowl sections (Heat).
In Miami, Barry Jackson wrote that about 3,200 upper-level
balcony seats will remain $5, "but those seats will be
available for fewer games next season" (MIAMI HERALD, 6/17).
