     Vice Chair TED TURNER is "suffering seller's remorse" over
     AOL's "pending purchase of the company."  Turner is "upset
     not only about his reduced role in the new company but also
     by how it was orchestrated behind his back" (L.A. TIMES,
     5/26)....Former Univ. of TX F/C CHRIS MIHM has signed a full
     representation contract with Octagon, and Octagon Senior
     VP/Basketball JEFF AUSTIN will be Mihm's lead contract
     negotiator and will head up the team that will handle Mihm's
     national marketing endeavors, PR and day-to-day management
     (Octagon)....Former Univ. of WI (UW) RB and Giants first-
     round draft pick RON DAYNE "plans to open" RON DAYNE'S
     SPORTS BAR AND RESTAURANT in Madison, WI, by July 1 (AP,
     5/26)....GREG NORMAN ranks No. 11 on Business Review Week
     magazine's list of the top 200 richest people in Australia. 
     Norman's "personal fortune has gone" from US$88.2M to
     US$122.4M (AUSTRALIAN, 5/25).  Norman has earned more than
     A$1.75M  from his licensing agreement with Mildara Blass
     wine (THE AGE, 5/25)....Former Pirates co-Owner THOMAS
     PHILLIPS JOHNSON passed away Tuesday from respiratory
     failure stemming from cancer.  He was 85 (Mult., 5/24)....SI
     swimsuit model and GQ cover girl ESTELLA WARREN "has been
     tapped to star opposite" SYLVESTER STALLONE in "CHAMPS," a
     movie on open-wheel racing (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 5/24)....NBC
     NBA analyst BILL WALTON writes an Op-Ed in TIME on the case
     of IN Univ. men's basketball coach BOBBY KNIGHT: "Indiana's
     complacency, and complicity, in the face of the injustice
     that has gone on is sad and embarrassing.  And so
     Nixonesque, to the point that the apologists are being
     trotted out to proclaim Knight's integrity" (TIME, 5/29).
     ....During The Essence Awards 2000 ceremony, MICHAEL JORDAN
     was awarded an Essence Award from the Make A Wish Foundation
     for both his athletic achievements and his various
     philanthropic contributions ("Essence Awards," Fox, 5/25).
