In DC, Eric Fisher writes that Capitals Owner Ted
Leonsis "made good on a plan to `broaden'" the team's ticket
prices by doubling the price of some lower-level seats and
lowering the price of some upper-level seats by 10%. The
new price plan means that "more than" 1,000 lower-level
seats that were reduced last year from $63 to $25 on a
season-ticket basis will now cost $49. The Capitals will
also "continue" their Eagles Nest section in the top of the
upper level at the MCI Center where seats will be priced at
$10 (WASHINGTON TIMES, 5/26). Capitals Senior VP/Business
Operations Declan Bolger: "This is a continuation of our
strategy to create more season-ticket holders." Nearly half
of the seats at the MCI Center will be less than $25 per
game for season-ticket holders (WASHINGTON POST, 5/26).
FAN-FRIENDLY BLUES: The Blues wrapped up a series of
three fan forums on Wednesday, and during the five days that
the team posted information about the forums on its Web
site, there were almost 1,000 responses from fans. Of the
responses, the team chose 60 fans for each forum and they
"were allowed to bring a guest." The forums were held at
the Kiel Club at the team's arena and included Q&A sessions
with Blues Owner Bill Laurie, President Mark Sauer, coach
Joel Quenneville and D Chris Pronger. Sauer told fans that
the team was in "good shape" financially because of Laurie's
backing (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 5/26).
