MEDIA NOTES

          TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:00pm ET 60-minute edition
     of FSN's "The National Sports Report" led with MLB's
     suspension of 16 Dodgers players for their part in last
     week's altercation at Wrigley Field, followed by Mariners-
     Orioles.  The first non-MLB report, at 7:06 into the
     broadcast, was Flyers-Devils. "TNSR" had 10:13 of NHL
     coverage.  Last night's 11:00pm ET 30-minute edition of
     CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" led with Flyers-Devils, followed
     by Isiah Thomas' election to the pro basketball HOF. 
     "Sports Tonight" had 3:16 of NHL coverage.  Last night's
     1:00am ET 60-minute edition of ESPN's "SportsCenter" also
     led with Flyers-Devils, with the first non-NHL story, at
     7:26, MLB's suspensions of the 16 Dodgers. "SportsCenter"
     had a total of 8:30 of NHL coverage (THE DAILY).  
          AND ACTION! Action Performance plans to relaunch its
     Internet subsidiary goracing.com as an e-commerce-only
     marketplace by the end of this summer's racing season. 
     Action will no longer offer motorsports news content on the
     site (Action)....In NC, Monte Dutton reports that The
     Winston, which was televised by TNN, was the "most watched
     telecast" on cable TV during its Saturday-night time slot. 
     The race drew a 3.5 rating, equaling "more than" 4.2 million
     viewers, up 9% from last year (GASTON GAZETTE, 5/25).
          PREDATORS TV DEAL: Fox Sports Net has become the
     exclusive TV partner of the Predators in a seven year deal.
     FSN will carry 50 Predators games next season, 55 in 2001-02
     and 60 for the remaining five years.  FSN will also air a
     30-minute pregame show for each home game telecast, as well
     as 30-minute pre- and post-season specials (FSN).
          SWOLLEN EYE: CBS will announce today that it is "re-
     entering the boxing business," as "tape-delayed telecasts of
     four heavyweight bouts airing on Showtime" in June will run
     on CBS in July (USA TODAY, 5/25). The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
     notes that CBS Sports will "rebroadcast three" of Showtime's
     PPV heavyweight fights (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 5/25).
