CHANGES ON THE HORIZON AT GAYLORD ENTERTAINMENT CENTER

Powers Management (PM) announced that the company will
not renew the arena management agreement with SMG for the
Gaylord Entertainment Center (GEC). On July 1, PM will take
sole responsibility for operating and managing the facility.
GEC GM Russ Simons will continue to oversee the day-to-day
operations and event bookings (PM). In Nashville, Kathy
Carlson reported that Powers Management is owned by
Predators Owner Craig Leipold. Predators VP Gerry Helper
said the decision not to renew "wasn't so much a financial
issue," but "the fact that ... Gaylord is the one and only
priority for Powers Management to make sure it's operated
properly." Helper also said that about 50 SMG employees
"may end up joining" PM (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 5/20).
