EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          HBO Sports Senior VP/Programming LOU DIBELLA resigned
     yesterday after 11 years.  DiBella and HBO Sports signed a
     multi-year deal where DiBella will have a chance to deliver
     sports programming to the network (HBO Sports)....ALEXANDRA
     "SANDY" GOLINKIN succeeds SUZANNE GRIMES as Publisher of
     Conde Nast's Women's Sports & Fitness magazine.  Golinkin
     had left Conde Nast in '98 after serving as Publisher of
     Allure (AD AGE, 5/16)....ID-based Diamond Sports named GARY
     HUNTER as CEO, succeeding CORD PEREIRA, who will remain
     Diamond Sports Chair while launching Extended Sports, a
     sports Internet venture.  Hunter has spent the past two
     years as CBA Commissioner.  In addition, BILL WALLER was
     promoted to Diamond Sports President and report directly to
     Hunter (Diamond Sports)....The Wizards named interim coach
     DARRELL WALKER as Dir of Player Personnel and former
     Warriors assistant coach ROD HIGGINS as Assistant GM.  The
     team also named FRED WHITFIELD as Assistant to Basketball
     Operations and Assistant General Counsel.  Whitfield spent
     the past four years with Nike, most recently as Dir of
     Player Development, Basketball Sports Marketing (Wizards).
     ...The WNBA Mystics named former assistant coach MELISSA
     MCFERRIN as GM, replacing WES UNSELD, who will remain the
     team's Exec VP (WASHINGTON POST, 5/17)....BOB SNYDER was
     named Station Manager of ESPN Radio's flagship WMVP-AM in
     Chicago.  Snyder was GM of all-sports WTEM-AM in Washington,
     DC.  In Chicago, Jim Kirk writes, "With two all-sports radio
     franchises in Chicago battling for fans in a town mired in a
     losing streak, Snyder is facing ... [a] tough sell" (CHICAGO
     TRIBUNE, 5/17)....Former NBA Senior VP/Media Programs BARRY
     FREY was named VP/Global Sales & Sponsorship of Space.com. 
     He was (BRANDWEEK, 5/15 issue)....The Redskins named
     MICHELLE TESSIER as Associate Dir of PR.  Tessier was with
     Arnold Communications, a Boston-based PR firm under the
     Snyder Communications "umbrella" (WASHINGTON POST, 5/17).
